Wow, what a weird night. After the storm last night our power was off from 6pm to 6am. Our house was really warm without the air on. After watching a movie on the portable DVD player we tried to sleep. Finally around 1 we had to open a window, but with the workers out there all night driving their large trucks and cutting at the tree that I guess fell onto the lines a few houses down it made it super noisy (plus the traffic on Douglass Rd is much louder with the windows open). We kept thinking the power would come back on any minute but it didn't! 30 minute intervals of sleep last night, I think! Hailey woke up earlier than usual too this morning. But, with a house that now smells overwhelmingly of scented candles (Note to self: buy unscented candles for emergencies! =P) we are happily awake and ready to celebrate Memorial Day!!
